Eighteen stories.
One answer.

Hineni follows eighteen diverse Jewish Americans through the course of a single day each — day-in-the-life portraits and interviews of people whose identities span a multitude of backgrounds, beliefs, orientations, cultures, and walks of life.

This film is not about disagreement — it is about respect, honoring people for who they are. It witnesses and allows for discussion, for questioning faith, viewpoints, and more. It moves through kitchens and studios, workspaces and synagogues, yoga mats and living rooms — anywhere a person lives out the fullness of who they are.

At a time when more and more people feel marginalized and unseen, when the question of who truly belongs feels impossible to ignore — these are the people who step forward and answer: Hineni. Here I am.

Brian Molyneaux is a documentary filmmaker and photographer whose work centers human complexity — the moments where identity, place, and belief converge in a single frame.

With Hineni, he brings the same attention he has given to his photographic subjects to a larger canvas: eighteen people, eighteen cities, eighteen voices calling out the same ancient word — Hineni. Here I am.

The project is in active production. Filming is currently underway across the United States.
